covid19

Our HUG is going to look a little bit different this year!

We are doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep our Heroes, Supporters and City safe. Meagan’s Walk will be shifting to an all virtual format in 2020. Our physical HUG originally postponed to the Fall, is cancelled for this year.

Our volunteer teams are hard at work creating exciting and engaging virtual events to help our Walk & HUG Teams and Participants continue to have fun while raising critical funds to support paediatric brain tumour research. At the same time, we are busy planning for our next HUG in 2021 that will mark our 20th anniversary. We want to make this the biggest and best one yet!

Children affected by brain tumours are at higher risk of contracting viruses and suffering serious effects. Now during this pandemic, funding research is more important than ever. Research that could lead to better treatment options, that do not leave their immune systems as vulnerable. Research that could improve their quality of life going forward.

Although apart, we can come together to support research into paediatric brain tumours, research that changes lives of children around the world.

On May 9th we launch “Together We (Virtually) Hug”. This online campaign is to share a message of hope and send our hug around the world. Everyone could use a hug right now! There will be a special message from the Meagan’s Walk Founder, Denise Bebenek to launch the campaign. If you don’t already follow us on Instagram or Facebook be sure to. Don’t miss out!

Let’s ensure that our friends around the world feel the power of our HUG. Please watch and share the video across your own networks.

In these uncertain times the journey for our kids affected by brain tumours does not stop. If you can, please donate.

Thank you for walking with us. We are stronger together!

Sincerely,

Denise Bebenek
